A recycling services business with 50 staff across four sites in Luton and St Albans had ended up with printers from several different manufacturers, none of them supported.
The problem
The work of keeping them running fell to the IT team. Different brands meant different consumables, so someone had to track which cartridge went in which machine and order them all separately.
There wasn’t any service contract behind it, so when a printer broke it got replaced rather than repaired. None of that’s expensive on its own. It adds up quietly, in time as much as money.
What iNREACH delivered
iNREACH installed five new Ricoh multifunctional devices across the sites. That put the whole fleet on one manufacturer, on higher-capacity business machines built for the volumes the business actually runs.
The devices went in on a service contract covering both maintenance and replacement consumables. The machines report toner levels back, so replacements are sent out before anyone notices they’re low.
The outcome
The IT team stopped fielding printer problems, which is the change they’ll have noticed first. Printing costs came down.
The business can also see what it prints now. The devices report volumes back, so print usage across the four sites is visible rather than something that only shows up on invoices.

A fleet that arrived one machine at a time
If your printers have been bought one at a time from whoever was cheapest that week, it’s worth knowing what the fleet costs to run once the consumables and the IT time are counted in. iNREACH supplies and supports print fleets across the UK from its Milton Keynes head office, with support answered in-house.
