Channing School is an independent girls’ day school in Highgate, North London. It has around 1,000 pupils and roughly 200 staff across two sites, a junior school and a senior school, and print runs through both.
The school came to iNREACH because its print contract had stopped working for it.
The problem
The previous contract carried a high minimum usage commitment. The school paid for a set volume of print whether it produced that volume or not, and it wasn’t producing it.
Alongside the cost, the account had gone quiet. There wasn’t any regular account management, and service calls were slow to get a response. Nobody was checking whether the fleet still matched the way the two sites were being used.
What iNREACH delivered
iNREACH installed 19 Canon multifunctional devices across the junior and senior sites, running PaperCut for print management and reporting.
The billing changed with it. The school is charged for what it actually prints, so invoices track real volume rather than a contracted minimum.
The contract includes guaranteed service response times, with support answered in-house from the iNREACH office in Milton Keynes. The school has a dedicated account manager and regular review meetings. iNREACH also helped the school set up toner recycling.
The outcome
Print costs came down, because the school stopped paying for volume it wasn’t using.
The account management has proved just as valuable. As the school’s requirements have changed, iNREACH has moved devices around both sites so they sit where staff and pupils need them.
