WILL MACINTYRE’S RESILIENT WEEKEND AT SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS
Elite Motorsport’s Will Macintyre faced a demanding weekend at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps during the latest round of the 2025 GB3 Championship. Despite the trials presented by the Ardennes circuit, Macintyre showcased resilience and determination across all three races.
RACE ONE: A STEADY START
In the opening race, Macintyre delivered a solid performance, navigating the complexities of Spa to secure a respectable 5th place finish. Although he did not reach the podium, his consistent pace laid the groundwork for the races that followed.
RACE TWO: BATTLING THROUGH THE PACK
Race Two presented its own set of challenges. Macintyre demonstrated skilful driving, manoeuvring through the competitive field and capitalising on overtaking opportunities, managing to maintain his position amidst fierce competition managing to finish in 6th place.
RACE THREE: MASTERING THE ELEMENTS
Race Three proved to be the most demanding. Starting from the third row in sixth position, Macintyre faced a damp track that was gradually drying – a scenario that tested drivers’ strategic choices. Opting for wet-weather Pirelli tyres, he initially maintained a strong position. However, as the track conditions improved, drivers who gambled on slick tyres gained an advantage. Despite the shifting dynamics, Macintyre’s skill ensured he remained competitive, ultimately finishing 10th.
LOOKING AHEAD
Macintyre’s performance at Spa underscores his resilience and tactical acumen. As the GB3 Championship goes on to the next round at the Hungaroring on July 5th – 6th, he remains a formidable contender. We will be watching to see how he leverages this experience in the upcoming races.
