WILL MACINTYRE CLINCHES FIRST GB3 VICTORY ON DEBUT WEEKEND AT SILVERSTONE

Will Macintyre enjoyed a memorable debut weekend in the GB3 Championship at Silverstone, culminating with a stunning first place victory in Sunday’s third race.

Driving for Elite Motorsport, Macintyre navigated early chaos and made the most of the reverse-grid format to secure a maiden win. He capitalised on a slow getaway by pole-sitter Keanu Al Azhari and expertly handled a restart following a dramatic early-race incident to lead from start to finish.

Macintyre worked hard throughout the day, finishing 8th in Race One and 23rd in Race Two. His breakthrough came in Race Three, where he ultimately came 1st, along side Patrick Heuzenroeder in 2nd and Kai Daryanani in 3rd. Will kept his composure as accidents eliminated several front-runners and timed his restart perfectly after a safety car period.

Reflecting on his weekend, Macintyre said:

“I made up positions in race one. An issue in race two meant we stalled on the grid, but we knew we’d have the pace in this one. We’ll take the win, we’ll take the points and move on to round two. After the first lap I definitely was like ‘woah, okay,’ but after that I had a really good safety car restart and just from then on I went at it. It was an interesting first lap.”

Macintyre’s triumph marks a strong statement in his first appearance this year, adding excitement to what promises to be a highly competitive GB3 season.
